A recent study published in the journal "Healthcare of Kyrgyzstan" found that the majority of citizens in Kyrgyzstan have a positive attitude towards vaccination; however, their level of awareness about vaccines leaves much to be desired.

During a survey conducted in July 2025 across various regions of the country, it was revealed that 77.1% of respondents support vaccination. At the same time, 9.1% of participants expressed doubts about its necessity, while about 2% completely rejected vaccination.

Although the respondents generally understand that vaccines are intended to protect against infectious diseases, only a small number of them were able to name specific diseases that they protect against. This indicates a lack of depth in their knowledge about vaccination, according to the authors of the study.

The main source of information about vaccination for respondents remains healthcare workers, as indicated by 59.4% of those surveyed.

The authors of the study emphasize that vaccination is not only an effective means of preventing infectious diseases but also represents an important socio-economic investment, especially in countries with limited healthcare resources.

In their opinion, to build trust in vaccination and increase immunization coverage in the country, a comprehensive increase in public awareness, improved communication, and accessibility of vaccines are necessary.
