The new modern complex will be built on a land plot of 44 hundredths. The project is fully funded by an anonymous benefactor from Kyrgyzstan.
According to the project, the mosque building will consist of six floors, with the two lower floors designated for parking, which will help solve the problem of insufficient parking spaces for worshippers.
The issue of constructing a new central mosque building has been discussed for over ten years.
The current appearance of the mosque "Imam al-Bukhari - Alai" can be seen in the current photographs.
There is no information about the construction time of the previous building in open sources. However, it is known that the historical territory of the mosque was significantly larger than it is now. To date, only one room of the old complex has been preserved. The main part of the current building was reconstructed as part of the celebration of Osh's 3000th anniversary, during which the building lost its authenticity.
Nevertheless, some social media users express the opinion that it is necessary to preserve this historical object. It is suggested not to demolish the old building but to construct a new one nearby to maintain the architectural harmony and historical appearance of this important place for the city.
