Today, March 21, a ceremonial event dedicated to the holiday of Nowruz took place in the city of Osh, attended by the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev. This information was disseminated by the parliament's press service.

First, the speaker participated in the traditional ritual of tasting sümölök, a dish prepared in honor of the holiday. He then attended the main event in the central square of the city.

Speaking to the residents and guests of the celebration, Marlen Mamataliyev noted the historical significance of Nowruz, which the ancestors of the Kyrgyz celebrated as the day of the spring equinox and the beginning of the new year. "This holiday, filled with symbolic rituals, is a tribute to the power of nature and the eternity of life," he said.

The speaker also highlighted that Osh is one of the oldest cities in the country with a history of over three thousand years.

In his speech, he mentioned the support that the country's president, Sadyr Japarov, provides to the city in its economic, cultural, and scientific development. "Currently, important projects are being implemented in Osh to improve infrastructure, construct social facilities, and modernize the road network," he added. "I am confident that our city's status as the 'cultural capital of the Turkic world' and 'center of the Great Silk Road' will continue to strengthen, and in the future, it will become an important cultural center not only for Central Asia but for the entire world. Let us cherish our heritage and actively participate in its development," emphasized Marlen Mamataliyev.

He also pointed out the symbolism of the coincidence of the celebration of Nowruz with Orozo Ait, which is a good sign. "Orozo symbolizes spiritual purification, while Nowruz is a call for renewal. May our prayers be heard," he added.

The speaker briefly talked about the reforms being carried out in the country. "We are focused on regional development, addressing the pressing issues of the population, constructing social facilities, and increasing salaries, pensions, and benefits. New jobs are being created, and infrastructure is improving. If we move forward together, we can make Kyrgyzstan a prosperous state. It is important that we work together for the bright future of our country," he concluded.

The festive event was accompanied by a program showcasing the richness of cultural heritage and spiritual values. The speaker and deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh observed national games and other activities.
