On March 20, International Earth Day, Bishkek is launching a large-scale greening campaign. From March 22 to April 5, residents of the capital will be able to participate in clean-up days and tree planting, aimed at transforming new buildings into well-maintained green zones.
The greening process will be carried out in stages. Events are planned in the main residential areas: the campaign will start in Bakai-Ata on March 22, move to Ak-Ordo-2 and Ak-Ordo-3 on March 27, and cover Ak-Ordo-1 on March 28. Then, on March 29, Ruhiy-Muras will join the campaign, Kalys-Ordo on April 4, and the campaign will conclude on April 5 in Muras-Ordo.
This initiative is part of the "Zhasyl Konushtar" ("Green Residential Areas") project, implemented by the Resource Center for the Elderly in collaboration with the organization "A More Inclusive Society." The main goal of the project is not only to improve the environmental situation and reduce dust levels in areas lacking greenery but also to unite local residents. The organizers aim for active participation from citizens in the improvement of their yards and the creation of a comfortable and shady environment.
In addition to planting seedlings, the project also includes educational activities and support for local environmental initiatives, contributing to the creation of a sustainable urban ecosystem. The participation of residents plays a key role in the success of the event, so the organizers encourage everyone who cares about the environment to join the clean-up days on the specified dates.
