
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a meeting took place between the Minister of Health, Damir Osmonov, and a delegation from the Asian Development Bank, led by Zheng Wu. This information was published by the ministry's press service.
During the discussion, the focus was on the implementation of ongoing projects and the preparation of new initiatives in the healthcare sector.
Particular attention was given to the project aimed at "Strengthening Regional Health Security." As part of this project, the country's laboratory service is being modernized, and the system's readiness for various threats is being improved. Currently, work has been completed on six out of eleven facilities, one facility is nearing completion, and tender procedures are currently underway for four others. The work is being carried out in Bishkek, as well as in the Chui and Osh regions.
Additionally, the necessary equipment is being supplied. Contracts have been signed for the supply of hematological, biochemical, immunochemical, and microbiological equipment, some of which are currently undergoing evaluation. After the supplies are completed, the laboratories will be equipped with modern technologies, significantly improving the quality of diagnostics.
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) systems are also being implemented.
At the meeting, issues related to the challenges of project implementation were discussed, such as construction timelines, procurement procedures, and coordination of actions among participants.
Furthermore, the future prospects for the development of the laboratory service were considered, taking into account international standards, including ISO 15189 requirements.
The parties also discussed the SEFF project, which involves the development of a new investment project for the modernization of hospital infrastructure, including the construction of new facilities, equipping them with modern equipment, and improving energy efficiency.
As a result of the meeting, readiness for further cooperation and the implementation of new projects in the healthcare sector was confirmed.
