Surabaldiyeva asks for help for a Kyrgyz woman who was in sexual slavery in Turkey
Saltanat, a resident of Osh, was deceived and taken to Turkey in 2004 for the purpose of sexual slavery. For 12 years, she lived in various cities in the country and only thanks to local residents did she manage to reach a women's protection center.
Although Saltanat has a family, including a husband and children, she does not have a passport. She has sought help in resolving this issue. According to Kyrgyz law, returning to her homeland is necessary to obtain a passport, but how can she do that without documents? I understand that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs operates within the law, but I appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers to take steps to assist our citizen in this critical situation," said Surabaldiyeva.
The deputy also noted that the woman who deceived Saltanat has still not been apprehended.
