People from various government structures, including the State Committee for National Security, the Presidential Administration, and the city hall, came to us. We didn't believe it until this information appeared on the internet and social media — that’s when we found out," he reported. He also pointed out that the current events contradict previously announced initiatives to support the arts, reminding about the presidential decree of 2023, which suggests support for cultural initiatives.
In Junushev's opinion, the decision regarding the future of the plot and the building is being made without considering the opinion of the Union of Artists. He emphasized that the House of Artists has the status of an architectural monument of national significance and is a non-state facility used by a public association.
Artists emphasize that the House of Artists is the private property of their association and does not belong to state facilities. They have appealed to the country's leadership with a call to preserve this important cultural space for creativity.
