Sports events in the capital are enriched with new happenings. On April 5 at 10:30, the first championship in Nordic walking will take place in Karagachevaya Grove, which will be an important event for the city. The organizers note that participation in the competition is open to everyone, regardless of their level of physical fitness or age.
The initiators of this significant event are the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Bishkek City Hall and the Federation of Sports Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event is also supported by relevant agencies, the Nordic walking school "Eurasia," and the sports club KRSU named after B.N. Yeltsin.
Participants will have to cover a distance of 5 kilometers with a time limit of one hour. The competition will take place not only in the overall standings but also in five age categories — from youth starting at 18 years old to veterans over 70 years old. The winners of the absolute standings will be awarded cups and valuable prizes from the championship partner — the store ATHLETEX PRO, while leaders in age groups will receive medals and certificates. Special prizes are designated for men and women who demonstrate the best walking technique.
Special poles are required for participation; however, if participants do not have them, the organizers provide the opportunity to rent equipment at the starting point. The entry fee is 800 soms, with a discount for students — 500 soms.
For those who want to try their hand at this sport for the first time or improve their skills, free training sessions are offered. They will take place on March 22 and 28 at 12:00 in Karagachevaya Grove, providing an excellent opportunity to master the proper walking technique under the guidance of instructors and confidently approach the competition on April 5.
