Minister Nurdana Oruntaev and the mayor of the city, Janarbek Akaev, discuss current issues related to the construction industry with businessmen and media representatives.
According to Nurdana Oruntaev, construction work has been completed on nine projects in Osh that were built without the necessary documentation, while another 24 projects are under construction. Despite the fact that the work was carried out simultaneously with the design, none of the projects were properly documented.
The ministry plans to create a special commission to accept the nine completed projects. Oruntaev emphasized that if the cost of a project is, for example, 100 million soms, then the completed work must correspond to that amount. He also noted that any attempts at fraud will be strictly suppressed.
The ministry is also taking control of the 24 projects that are in the construction process.
Journalists at the meeting asked whether the ministry is aware of its responsibility for the current situation. Nurdana Oruntaev explained that Osh, as a city of republican significance, has its own budget and management mechanisms, and all necessary services responsible for oversight are operating on the ground. He added that, unfortunately, violations of legislation have occurred, and someone must be held accountable for this.
The ministry's control department monitors the quality of work performed but does not interfere in the financial side of affairs. It became known that due to the lack of oversight regarding parallel design, one ministry employee has already been dismissed, and measures will also be taken against other officials.
It is worth noting that earlier media reports indicated that the debt of the Osh city hall to construction companies could reach 12 billion soms. However, former mayor Zhenishbek Toktorbaev denied this information, stating that the actual debt is about 2.2 billion soms.
