According to Turmush, Toktogul Niyazov died on March 16, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
He was born in 1954 and, together with his wife, raised seven children.
The Niyazov family is known for its players in kok-boru and ulak tartysh: Manas, Janysh, Bayaman, Kyaz, and Bayysh. The first among them to start playing ulak tartysh was Manas Niyazov.
