According to information from the Bishkek City Police Department, on March 13, 2026, a call was received on the emergency number "102" reporting that a shot had been fired from a car parked near the banquet hall on Kozhomberdieva Street.
The investigative-operational group of the Lenin District Police Department immediately went to the scene. Inside a GAC vehicle, the body of a man born in 1981 was discovered with a gunshot wound. It was later determined that this was Kubanychbek Kapalov.
During the examination of the crime scene, law enforcement officials seized a smoothbore shotgun "Izh-18" caliber 12, 13 cartridges, a shell casing, two mobile phones (iPhone-15 and Redmi), as well as a suicide note and other evidence.
According to preliminary conclusions from the forensic examination, the deceased had gunshot wounds to the chest area. An additional forensic examination has been appointed for a more accurate analysis of the injuries.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the tragedy may have been debt obligations, which could have prompted the man to make the decision to commit suicide.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 128, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Currently, law enforcement agencies continue the investigation, clarifying all the details of what happened.
