At a joint meeting of the parliamentary groups "Ishenim" and "Ala-Too," Deputy Minister of Health Tilek Mamadaliev announced that starting from April 1, 2026, the salaries of medical professionals will double.
According to him, from the presidential fund, 15,000 soms per month will be allocated for each doctor and nurse to raise their salaries.
Teachers are also expecting a 100% salary increase. The pedagogical community is discussing a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On the conditions of remuneration for workers in the education system of the Kyrgyz Republic."
According to the draft, it is planned to implement presidential compensation:
- for education system workers (except for technical and junior support staff) in the amount of 15,000 soms;
- for technical staff and junior support personnel — 5,000 soms.
If an employee works part-time, the presidential compensation will be calculated proportionally to their workload.
It is important to note that the presidential compensation will not be taken into account when calculating vacation pay and will be added to the salary considering all allowances (including for work in difficult conditions). The Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and representatives of the pedagogical community have appealed to the Prime Minister to reconsider the draft on teachers' remuneration. They expressed dissatisfaction with significant discrepancies in the salary coefficients for teachers of different subjects. Historians, in particular, are concerned that even with a general salary increase, due to these coefficients, they will receive less than their colleagues, teachers of primary classes or STEAM disciplines.
The President noted that after the increase, the average salary of doctors will be about 62,500 soms (around 50,000 net). A young teacher will receive 36,800 soms (net about 31,200). The salary of a mathematics teacher from a remote high-altitude area with a regional coefficient of 1.8 and over 30 years of experience will rise to 97,600 soms starting April 1.
However, official state bodies have not yet commented on the details of the mechanism for increasing salaries for doctors and teachers starting from April 1.
