In Osh, the cleaning of Ak-Buura has begun, and more than 100 km of fencing will appear along the canals.
The city's mayor, Janarbek Akaev, reported that these activities are aimed at preventing mudslide flooding and ensuring the safety of local residents. Specialized equipment has been brought in to carry out the work.
According to Akaev, the riverbed has not been cleaned for 30–40 years, which has led to previous flooding. In this regard, the president of the country has found sources of funding, which will allow for a complete cleaning of the river.
Additionally, there are seven canals in Osh, along which it is planned to install modern fencing with a total length of over 100 km. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks and landscaping work.
As the mayor noted, the implementation of these initiatives will improve infrastructure and create more comfortable conditions for the city's residents.
