Location of the new Osh market
The new Osh market will occupy an area of 155,000 square meters and will be located on the way to Manas Airport (via the Vasilievsky tract). The construction of the new market is expected to be completed by the summer season of this year, and the relocation of traders will begin on August 1. However, sellers are still unsure about their new locations, as they have only been promised them "verbally." Kanibek Tumanbaev assured that the relocation process will be "organized and trouble-free." The administration has not yet responded to the editorial's request for a comment.
Opinions of buyers
Opinions among the citizens are divided: many fear that after the relocation of the Osh market, trips to Manas Airport will take longer. One respondent noted that serious traffic jams are already observed on the road to the airport during peak hours. The authorities hope that some citizens will start using public transport. In this regard, the expansion of certain sections of Molodoy Gvardii Street to four lanes is planned (the main traffic flow from the center may pass through this street), and the Northern bypass road will be increased to six lanes.

To reduce the load on the Vasilievsky tract, the Ministry of Transport is considering the possibility of constructing a new four-lane road to Manas Airport. It will run from the intersection of Molodoy Gvardii Street and the Northern bypass road. However, the start and completion dates for this project are still unknown.

The authorities also plan to build nearly 9 kilometers of access roads to the new Osh market, including a bypass on Profsoyuznaya Street from Kustanayskaya Street to the traffic police post. In addition, the reconstruction of the road from the SEZ "Bishkek" to the Ala-Archa reservoir is planned. However, specific details of these initiatives remain uncertain. The Ministry of Transport was also unable to comment on the situation.
Currently, work on the expansion of Molodoy Gvardii Street, the Northern bypass road, and the construction of the "cloverleaf" interchange has already begun in some areas. It is expected that these projects will be completed by mid to late 2026, but the timelines for other road infrastructure projects have not been specified. Thus, in the initial period after the relocation of the Osh market, traffic on the Vasilievsky tract may significantly increase.
