In 2025, the damage from internet fraudsters exceeded 826 million soms - Ministry of Internal Affairs
Nurbek Abdiyev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, spoke at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, where he reported that in 2025, 1,547 criminal cases related to internet fraud were registered. Of this number, 830 cases have already been solved.
According to him, the total amount of damage exceeded 826 million soms, while about 73 million soms have been returned to the victims.
“Most often, citizens realize that they have become victims of fraudsters within 1-2 days, while the perpetrators manage to withdraw funds in just 1-2 hours. To address this issue, a system for quick freezing of funds on bank cards is being implemented in collaboration with the National Bank, which will allow for the rapid blocking of suspicious transfers,” he noted.
In addition, the deputy minister pointed out the increase in cases of cryptocurrency fraud, where the amounts involved are significant. In such situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs sends requests to cryptocurrency exchanges to suspend the operations of the fraudsters.
