Alanya Ultra Trail has been held since 2017 and has gathered over 700 participants from 34 countries during its time. The competition is certified by the International Trail Running Association and is included in the list of international trail running events.
This year, the run will take place under the slogan "Tradition to Trail" and will be organized with the support of the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkey.
The main event will be the Alanya Ultra Trail (AUT) distance, which is 68 kilometers long. The program also includes four additional distances:
42 km - Taurus Mountain Trail (TMT)
27 km - Keykubat Mountain Run (KMR)
18 km - Cleopatra Short Trail (CST)
5 km - Alanya Castle Run (ACR)
The main route will start at the Damlataş Cave, near the famous Cleopatra Beach. Participants will run through historical sites of the city, such as the Tophane district, the Red Tower (Kızıl Kule), the ancient shipyard, the Alanya Fortress, and the covered market Bedesten. After the city streets, the trail leads into the Taurus Mountains, finishing again at Cleopatra Beach.
The organizers emphasize that the routes follow historical paths once used by the nomadic tribes of the Turkmen Yoruks, who once inhabited this region. The trails stretch from the peaks of the Taurus Mountains to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Antalya is considered one of Turkey's leading tourist centers. The region attracts millions of tourists every year due to its mild climate, picturesque beaches, and numerous historical attractions.
Alanya is one of the popular resorts in this region, known for its 13th-century fortress built during the Seljuk era, the ancient shipyard, and the Red Tower, which now functions as an ethnographic museum.
In addition to historical monuments, the city attracts tourists with its natural beauty, such as the Incekum and Cleopatra beaches, the Sapadere Canyon, the Dim and Damlataş caves, the Dim River, and picturesque mountainous areas.
Alanya is also famous for its diverse cuisine and vibrant nightlife, offering bars, concerts, and other entertainment activities.
