Today in Bishkek, 31 drivers received insurance payouts under the OSAGO and KASKO policies, with a total amount of 2,906,000 soms. This became possible thanks to the work of the branch of the state insurance company. The deputy director of the branch, Baktybek Junusov, noted that previously the payout procedure took up to a month; however, according to new directives from management, the funds are now transferred within two weeks.
“At the moment, citizens are already receiving insurance certificates. Since the beginning of this year, our branch has paid out 48 million 959 thousand soms to policyholders. For comparison, the total payout for the entire year of 2025 was 69 million 746 thousand soms, which is a record. According to our data, there are about 2 million registered vehicles in Bishkek, and only 10% of them were insured in 2025. It is also worth mentioning that in addition to our company, there are 17 other private insurance organizations operating in the market,” he added.
OSAGO is a program that provides mandatory insurance for civil liability of vehicle owners.
The OSAGO legislation was adopted in 2016, but its full implementation only began on September 1, 2025.
