In the Chui region, a raid called "Pedestrian" has started, aimed at increasing road safety.

This information was provided by the press service of the Road Safety Department (UOBDD) of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region.

As stated, this event is organized to prevent road traffic accidents (RTA) involving pedestrians.

"During the raid, explanatory conversations are held with citizens, and measures are taken to improve safety on the roads," reported representatives of the UOBDD press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region.

Local residents of the Moscow district spoke about the problem related to the central market "Yarmarka," located along the Bishkek — Kara-Balta highway, where pedestrians often climb over the concrete barrier set up in the middle of the road.

"We don’t understand who is responsible for this. Sometimes the barrier is opened for pedestrians, and sometimes it is closed again. This has happened 2-3 times already, and we are confused ourselves. Yes, there is an underpass, but you have to walk around to get to it, which takes a lot of time with heavy bags. Therefore, people prefer to climb over the concrete barrier to get to the other side of the road faster," shared their observations with local residents.
