According to the agency, existing rumors that the raise will only affect teachers of STEM subjects, while teachers of history, Kyrgyz language, and geography will remain unchanged, are not true. The information about the reduction of hours for the mentioned subjects is also incorrect.
The Ministry of Education emphasizes that all teachers in educational institutions perform a strategic state mission by educating the new generation.
It was previously reported that the salaries of education workers will increase by 100% from the current level.
According to the president, the average salary of teachers in the country is 26,000 soms, and after the increase, starting from April 1, 2026, it will be approximately 40,000 soms. In remote regions, a teacher with higher education, whose current salary is 65,800 soms, will earn 80,800 soms.
As of today, the minimum salary for a teacher in Kyrgyzstan is 12,000 soms, while the maximum reaches 72,000 soms.
The amount of salary depends on the level of education, the region of work, the number of teaching hours and workload, teaching experience, as well as the presence of additional payments for class management and grading notebooks.
