The Ministry of Agriculture is taking important steps to renew agriculture and develop cooperatives, as reported by the ministry's press service.
The main goal of these initiatives is to increase productivity and the efficient use of natural resources, which will lead to the formation of a sustainable and competitive agricultural sector.
According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, modern agricultural machinery will be provided to farmers' associations as part of the support program. It is planned that in 2026-2027, approximately 2000 hectares of agricultural land will be processed through cooperatives, creating over 120 new jobs.
The strategy for the development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan is aimed at sustainable development. Key priorities include preserving soil fertility, rational use of water resources, reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, and supporting biodiversity. It also includes establishing cooperation and experience exchange with leading countries, as well as implementing innovative technologies to enhance the sector's competitiveness.
As emphasized by the ministry, the implementation of "smart" greenhouses plays an important role in this process. Automated systems provide climate control, ventilation, and heating, while drip irrigation and plant nutrition are adapted to the needs of the crops. These technologies can increase yields by 25-35%, while ensuring more economical use of water and fertilizers.
A key direction is the use of high-yielding and drought-resistant varieties of agricultural crops. For example, new hybrid corn varieties, such as DroughtGard, show excellent results in drought conditions and contribute to yield stability.
The ministry emphasizes that only the joint use of innovative solutions, cooperation, and environmental responsibility will ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector. The implementation of modern technologies and support for farmers open new opportunities for the effective development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.
