Many businessmen who have lost their assets are reluctant to openly speak about their problems.
During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, attended by the president, deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva expressed the opinion that serious mistakes had been made in the work of the GKNB.
She noted that businessmen who have lost their property are currently experiencing fear of the possible consequences of their public statements.
The deputy also reported that some citizens have become victims of seizures carried out by security service employees.
“There are known cases of the dismissal of certain employees. When I urge entrepreneurs to openly report their situations, they respond that relatives of these employees have connections in the prosecutor's office and the president's administration,” she added.
Furthermore, Surabaldiyeva stated the need for the GKNB to publish a complete list of assets returned to the state, including information on which of them were transferred voluntarily and which were taken forcibly.
President Sadyr Japarov stated that businessmen who became victims of unjustified criminal prosecution in previous years can now appeal to the prosecutor's office for a review of their cases.
He noted that a significant number of such applications are already being received, each of which will be carefully considered.
“If it is found that assets or businesses were seized illegally, they must be returned to their rightful owners,” the president emphasized.
