Life in the Regions: A Teacher from Jeti-Oguz Goes to Bulgaria Every Summer, and 70% of Her Students Get Budget Places in Universities
Neighbors note that Elnura is a modern example of a teacher who successfully combines respect for traditions and family values with the use of modern educational technologies.
Elnura was born on April 11, 1988, in the village of Taldy-Suu, located in the Tyup district of the Issyk-Kul region. Her family consisted of civil servants: her father worked as an ambulance driver for over 40 years, and her mother is still employed as the head nurse.
After graduating from Mukai Elebaev School in 2005, Elnura moved to Bishkek with dreams of a singing career. However, influenced by her aunt's advice, she changed her direction—“Why become a singer? It’s better to become a teacher; it will be a respected profession, especially if you get married in the village,” Elnura says.
Enrolling in Bishkek Humanities University (BHU) was a real challenge for her. Despite the heat and unfamiliar city transport, Elnura decided to study at the philological faculty, marking the beginning of her career as a teacher of the Kyrgyz language and literature.
In her first year, she met her future husband, after which the family moved to Chyrak. Since 2009, while still a third-year student, Elnura began her work at Talyp Akun School.
Now, her teaching experience spans 16 years. In addition to her role as a teacher, Elnura also serves as a social educator, paying attention to each student.
Elnura actively incorporates interactive and media lessons, as well as artificial intelligence technologies, into her teaching. She developed a speed reading course called “Journey to Knowledge” for elementary grades.
Her professional achievements include winning the “Digital Teacher” project (which earned her a trip to Tashkent), honorary certificates from the Women’s Congress for an essay on national values, the title of “Blogger-Teacher,” and awards from the “Zээндүү мугалим” Olympiad (2025).
The results of her work are evident: about 70% of graduates are admitted to budget places in universities, including those who scored high marks on the ORT (189 and 169).
Elnura is also proud of her students' creative successes: two of them were accepted into the acting department of the B. Beishenaliev Arts University, and one became a student at the M. Kurankeev Music College on a budget basis.
As the coordinator of the “Digital Academy” in her district, Elnura organizes book competitions, the winners of which can travel to Almaty.
Additionally, she actively manages the school’s social media page, engages in video editing, and enjoys singing and dancing. Elnura uses her summer vacations for self-development, annually traveling to Bulgaria, where she works as a cook, which, according to her, allows her to see the world and gain new experiences.
Family is Elnura's main support. Together with her husband, they are raising four sons: the eldest, Erjan, is already in his first year of university, while the other three are schoolchildren.
Elnura hopes for more opportunities for rural teachers and children to exchange experiences abroad. “There are many talented children in our villages, and our task is to guide them in the right direction. My own sons also aspire to the arts: one wants to be like Bolot Minzhilkiyev, and the other like Kerim Turapov. Seeing them achieve the dreams that I once had is my happiness,” she emphasizes.
