The Kyrgyz delegation studied the experience of 'smart farms' in the Republic of Korea

The delegation from Kyrgyzstan recently visited South Korea to study advanced technologies in the field of "smart" agriculture. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The group, led by Asel Kenenbaeva, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing, included representatives from institutions under the ministry, such as the State Institution "AgroSmart," the State Enterprise "State Breeding Farm," as well as farmers and experts from dairy farming and horticulture selected as part of the project "Development of Sustainable Agri-food Clusters," funded by the World Bank.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Korea, as well as the Ministry of Science and Information Technology, which provided an opportunity to discuss issues related to the digitalization of agriculture.

As part of the exchange program, delegates visited vertical and closed farms, as well as scientific centers engaged in agricultural innovations and automation. Key sites included Dawoon Co., Ltd. in Incheon, One Acre Farm in Yongin, Farm8, Plan T in Pyeongtaek, and the Korean Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) in Daejeon.

Participants familiarized themselves with modern digital solutions and technologies of "smart" farming that are actively applied in the agricultural sector.

This program was organized with the support of the Korean Green Growth Trust Fund, the government of the Republic of Korea, and the World Bank.

It is expected that the knowledge gained will help implement new technologies in Kyrgyzstan, which, in turn, will enhance the efficiency of agricultural production and positively impact the development of local farms.
