Incorrect number of registrants
Aydai, one of the students, contacted the editorial office of Kaktus.media and reported that in October-November, during discussions about the introduction of a ten-month training course, many rushed to enroll in driving schools to complete their training in two and a half months.According to her, she chose a driving school located near her home, with a convenient schedule for weekend classes.
“The cadets registered, but it turned out that the state enterprise 'Unaa' allocated certain quotas to educational institutions. Our driving school had only 145 such quotas. Despite this, the director of the driving school knew that many would not be able to pass the exam, yet he still enrolled more students than allowed. We only found out about this several months later when we were unable to register for the exam,” Aydai said.
She added that 62 people were unable to take the exam.
“We contacted 'Unaa', where we were told that the exam date is generated automatically, and the database was closed back in January. Moreover, our driving school director, Meder Tagaybekovich, has been detained and is in pre-trial detention. The training cost 38,000 soms for theory and practice, but some cadets spent between 50,000 to 70,000 soms as they attended more practical classes. Only 15 people managed to get their money back; the rest were denied by the organization, citing a lack of funds,” she noted.
Aydai reported that a group of cadets who were not allowed to take the exam submitted a statement to the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek through the "Tunduk" application, but have not yet received a response. They are requesting the Presidential Administration to allow them to take the exam and obtain their driver's licenses.
Response from "Unaa"
The State Center for Vehicle Registration confirmed to Kaktus.media that cadets had approached "Unaa" and held meetings with the agency's leadership.Unfortunately, this is not the only case. The driving school did not register its students in the database on time, which is why they were not allowed to take the exams. This is the full responsibility of the driving school. We cannot assist in this situation,” the center commented.
Thus, the cadets will have to undergo training at a state driving school, "Unaa" added.
