Recently, the Federation of Shuttlecock and Lyanga was registered in Kyrgyzstan, as confirmed by data from the Ministry of Justice.

According to the database, the organization received official recognition in December 2025, and it is headed by Bolotbek Maripov.

In an interview with the publication "Slovo Kyrgyzstana," he noted that this is the first federation of its kind in the post-Soviet space.

Maripov emphasized that small tournaments are already being held in Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, as well as in Buryatia and Tuva, but no federations are registered in these regions. "We are the first to choose this path to structure the game and establish qualification standards," he added.

Currently, the rules of the game are being developed, and training for coaches and referees is underway. In the future, there may even be sports masters in lyanga in Kyrgyzstan.

According to Maripov, "we realized that it is necessary to integrate the game into the education system. We visited the physical culture academy, which also supported our initiative and announced plans to create a faculty of national sports. If we manage to finalize the documents, training in the specialty 'lyanga' will begin in September.

Moreover, KNU highlighted the importance of the connection between the national university and the national game. "Recently, we signed a memorandum. This will allow the Lyanga Federation to obtain a training and sports base, where an internal tournament for the lyanga cup of the rector will take place. Then KNU plans to apply for the addition of lyanga to the student spartakiad program," Maripov said.

On February 14, the first amateur tournament for lyanga took place in Bishkek.
