The Ministry of Health conducted an analysis of the work of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service for the year 2025 and discussed ways for its further development.
According to official data from the press service, there are 538 anesthesiologists-resuscitators and 1,161 nurses employed in the country's healthcare institutions. Currently, there are 733 beds functioning in anesthesiology, resuscitation, and intensive care units. In 2025, over 105,000 anesthesias were performed across the republic during surgical operations and medical procedures, with 95,733 patients receiving treatment in resuscitation departments.
Meeting participants noted the importance of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service as one of the fundamental elements of the healthcare system, which ensures the functioning of operating rooms, the treatment of patients in critical conditions, and the provision of emergency medical assistance.

However, a number of problems were also raised, including a shortage of specialists in the regions and a high workload on existing doctors. Participants emphasized the need to improve staff training and develop a system of continuous medical education.
Issues regarding the condition and operation of medical equipment were also discussed. Specialists noted that some institutions have modern equipment; however, part of it requires technical maintenance or repair, and is not fully utilized due to a lack of consumables and insufficient staff training.
Additionally, attention was paid to increasing the efficiency of monitoring the work of resuscitation departments, improving the reporting system, and providing technical support for medical equipment.
Health Minister Damir Osmonov emphasized that the development of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service is a priority direction in healthcare, as this service is responsible for treating the most severe patients and supporting surgical assistance.
Following the meeting, the minister issued a number of instructions to the relevant departments of the Ministry of Health:
— conduct a detailed analysis of the staffing of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service by regions and prepare proposals to strengthen the training and retraining of specialists;
— ensure control over the effective use of high-tech medical equipment in medical institutions;
— enhance monitoring of the work of resuscitation and intensive care units.
