According to the former mayor, the actual debt amounts to 2 billion 300 million soms
Former mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, denied rumors that the city hall owed 12 billion soms after his resignation. He made these comments in an interview.
Toktorbaev explained that before his appointment as mayor, 586 million soms were allocated for the repair of the streets of Mamyrava, Amir-Timur, and Kokum Bi. After he took office, 2 billion 200 million soms were allocated for road works, which allowed for the repair of several streets and about 100 kilometers of roads.
“Claims that the city hall has gone into debt are false. In the framework of municipal capital construction, the debt to contractors is approximately 750 million soms, and the city road construction enterprise has about 1 billion 500 million soms. In total, the debt to contracting organizations for completed work amounts to about 2 billion 300 million soms,” noted Toktorbaev.
It is worth adding that the work of the city hall is currently being audited by a commission from the Accounts Chamber.
