The Crisis Center shared the story of a woman who survived domestic violence
The Crisis Center "Sezim" shared the story of 30-year-old Aizirek, who suffered from domestic violence by her husband in Kyrgyzstan for several years.
The woman, who has been married for eight years and is raising four children, noted that at the beginning of their life together, everything went smoothly. However, over time, her husband developed an excessive sense of jealousy, which became the cause of frequent conflicts.
“Every step I took, every interaction with people became a reason for quarrels. He often raised his hand against me because of his jealousy. Beatings, screams, and constant scandals became part of our daily life,” Aizirek recounts.
Moreover, according to her, her husband threatened her: “He said, ‘If you leave, I will kill you, I will burn your parents' house.’ These threats made me fear not only for my life but also for the safety of my children,” she added.
For a long time, Aizirek endured the violence, hoping that it would not affect her children, and not wanting them to grow up without a father. Over time, she realized that the atmosphere of fear and constant conflict negatively impacted the children.
“He constantly belittled me, saying, ‘Where will you go with four children? Who will take you in? Who will help you?’ Gradually, I began to doubt myself,” the woman shares her experiences.
Aizirek admitted that she remained silent about her situation for a long time out of fear and shame, worrying about what others would say. However, in the end, she decided to seek help from the crisis center.
At "Sezim," they emphasize that such cases are not rare, and many women endure violence for years without the courage to speak about their situation or seek support.
