About 20 percent of small and medium-sized businesses in Kyrgyzstan are managed by women

By 2027, it is planned to allocate at least 30% of the personnel reserve for leadership positions to women.

In anticipation of International Women's Day, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, met with the female staff of the Presidential Administration, expressing his congratulations to them. This information was published by the press service of the Cabinet.

In his speech, the Head of the Cabinet noted that this holiday has deep roots in the culture of honoring women, who have always been the foundation of Kyrgyz society.

“This day is not just marked on the calendar; it is a symbol of respect and reverence. A mother, a sister, a daughter — each of them deserves warmth and sincere words of gratitude. It is customary for us to consider that a man is the support of the home and the protector of the people, while a woman is the well-being of the family and the foundation of the nation,” emphasized Kasymaliev.

The Head of the Cabinet cited statistics from the National Statistics Committee, according to which the role of women in the country’s economy continues to grow.

Women today manage approximately 20% of small and medium-sized businesses in Kyrgyzstan.

Moreover, they hold leading positions in such fields as education, digital services, manufacturing, and trade.

Kasymaliev also added that by 2027, it is planned to increase the share of women in the personnel reserve for leadership positions to 30%.

By 2030, a full 30% representation of women in leadership positions in all state and municipal bodies will be achieved.
