The President stated that it is now practically impossible to obtain driver's licenses illegally.
In an interview with the National Agency "Kabar," President Sadyr Japarov commented on the recent withdrawal of the bill from the Jogorku Kenesh, which proposed conducting on-site knowledge checks of traffic rules for drivers.
According to him, the main goal of this initiative was to identify violators and assess their knowledge of traffic rules. If a driver does not know the rules, they have the opportunity to lose their license and undergo retesting.
The President is confident that this is the right approach, but for its implementation, it is necessary to first prepare the traffic police staff.
Sadyr Japarov also noted that some inspectors themselves are not always fully aware of the traffic rules.
“I have always emphasized that previously many obtained licenses without undergoing training. This led to an increase in the number of accidents in which our citizens were harmed. One way to solve this problem is to implement this initiative,” the President noted.
The head of state added that without appropriate measures against violators, the number of accidents will continue to rise.
In the President's opinion, the likelihood of obtaining driver's licenses illegally has now decreased by 99 percent.
“The state has taken this issue under control. It is necessary to train drivers who previously obtained licenses and do not know the rules. Only in this case will the roads of Kyrgyzstan become safer,” he concluded.
