Bekeshev: Owners of vehicles with RF license plates may have the opportunity to register their vehicles
In his Telegram channel, he reported that the speaker of parliament, Marlen Mamataliyev, will soon travel to Russia for negotiations.
According to Bekeshev, "There are cars in impound lots that have been detained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that there are currently about 700 of them. The speaker and I are considering the possibility of the Toraga going to the Russian Federation and trying to negotiate for representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or another state agency responsible for vehicle registration to come here and deregister these cars in Russia. This will allow their owners to register the vehicles here and use them. I think this could be a solution to the problem; we just need to wait a bit," he noted.
It is worth reminding that the campaign for the legalization of vehicles with foreign license plates ended on October 1, 2025, during which 30,086 vehicles were legalized. These cars have state license plates from the 10th region. Vehicles that have not undergone legalization cannot move within the territory of the republic. Owners can either export them abroad or dismantle them for parts or scrap metal.
Despite repeated appeals from deputies to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce requesting additional legalization, the agency stated that such an action is not planned.
