At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Saltanat Amanova expressed the need for comprehensive support for representatives of journalism. She emphasized the importance of addressing housing issues and increasing the salary levels for media workers.
According to Amanova, journalists play a crucial role in creating reliable information for society; however, their financial situation leaves much to be desired.
“Currently, the salaries of journalists range from 13,000 to 20,000 soms, with the maximum reaching about 30,000 soms,” she added.
She also highlighted that the lack of attention to this area negatively affects the quality of journalistic materials, leading to a decrease in the number of investigations and the gradual disappearance of print publications. Amanova noted that the public's trust in professional journalists who work with facts and statistics contrasts with the spread of unverified information.The deputy called on the government to pay attention to the social problems faced by media representatives, emphasizing that support for journalism is directly related to ensuring information security and retaining professional personnel.
