At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Erlan Kokulov expressed his opinion regarding a video recording in which traffic police officers were drawing up a protocol for his alleged traffic violation.
Kokulov noted that certain individuals are trying to tarnish his reputation.
According to the deputy, the incident occurred at 19:00, but the traffic police arrived at his home only at 23:00. They conducted a search during which his car was found. However, as Kokulov pointed out, constitutional norms do not allow for a search to be conducted against him.
A representative of the traffic police stated that the deputy's statement is under review, and an official response will be provided. To this, Kokulov clarified that the situation has other aspects.
In response, the official added that an investigation is currently underway.
“Our officers arrived in response to signals from local residents. The investigation is ongoing, and we will provide the results,” he noted.
The deputy also inquired whether the Instagram accounts that published the video featuring him are official pages of the agency. The official answered negatively to this question.
“Why, violating my rights to privacy and constitutional rights, do you make a fool of me on the internet? Why didn’t you have body cameras when you came to me? A press service employee without a uniform came to me and drew up the protocol. If you do not comply with the law and seek hype by making a fool of a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh and the son of the Kyrgyz people, how can you conduct driver exams?” the deputy exclaimed.
