Today, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, visited the sediment reservoir located in the Manka-Zhar area, where he met with local residents. This was reported by the press service of the Bishkek mayor's office.
During his visit, the mayor noted that currently, no sediment processes are expected in this area, and the weather conditions do not pose a threat to residents and urban infrastructure. The situation is being monitored by city services.

According to reports, in 2023-2024, heavy rainfall led to flooding of houses in residential areas such as "Archa-Beshik," "Zher-Intymagy," and "Orok."
As part of the measures taken, 6,000 tons of garbage were removed, and two dams were cleared to prevent flooding, with a volume of 1,615 cubic meters. In addition, two new sediment reservoirs were built in the villages of Lower and Upper Orok, capable of holding up to 42,000 cubic meters of water.

According to the mayor's office, thanks to the measures taken, flooding was avoided in 2025, and now more than 260 residential houses are protected from possible negative consequences of natural disasters.
At the end of the meeting, the mayor instructed the need to clean the irrigation network within residential areas and to complete all planned works on time.
