"Blood Moon". A rare lunar eclipse will occur today.
Residents of the capital of Kyrgyzstan will only be able to observe the final part of this astronomical phenomenon.
The eclipse occurs when the Earth is positioned between the Moon and the Sun, casting its shadow on the satellite. This is only possible during full moons. Astronomers distinguish three types of eclipses: penumbral, partial, and total, with total eclipses being the most spectacular.
During the full phase of the Moon, an effect known as the "blood moon" occurs. Light from the Sun does not reach the satellite, but some of its rays pass through the Earth's atmosphere. Short wavelengths are scattered, while red ones reach the Moon, coloring it in various shades from bright orange to dark brown. The degree of coloration depends on the state of the atmosphere at that moment.
Experts claim that lunar eclipses do not affect people's health.
