The State Penitentiary Service is purchasing beef for 13.3 million soms

The State Penitentiary Service (GPS) has announced a tender for the purchase of beef, which will be implemented within the budget for the second quarter of 2026.

According to information posted on the government procurement portal, 13.3 million soms have been allocated for this purpose. It is planned to purchase 19 tons of first-category meat, which means a price of 700 soms per kilogram.

The technical requirements for the meat include its freshness, absence of foreign odors, and sliminess. The presence of remnants of internal organs, skin, blood clots, contamination, bruises, as well as ice and snow is prohibited. The meat must be delivered in the form of carcasses, half-carcasses, or quarters with the appropriate stamp from the veterinary and sanitary examination laboratory.

Applications from suppliers are accepted until March 16.

It was previously reported that the GPS purchased fish for convicts and detainees at inflated prices, resulting in a loss of 15.9 million soms, and a criminal case has been initiated in this regard.
