The cutest workout took place in Bishkek. A report that makes you want to get a dog.
This was the first workout of its kind in this format. Shoola Baisaev, the club administrator, noted that many trainers and female visitors love animals, and most of them have their own pets. Moreover, this branch is the only one of its kind where you can attend classes with your four-legged friend, provided they are well-behaved and socialized.
In Bishkek, the practice of shooting stray dogs continues. Although no official studies have been conducted on this issue, the problem has existed for several years, and the number of animals on the streets is not decreasing. Complaints are often heard about situations where a private house contains a huge number of dogs (more than a hundred!) or about packs of animals frightening children and attacking passersby.
However, in the neighboring city of Kant, a positive example can be seen. In 2022, the Kant city administration signed an agreement with a Kyrgyz-French organization and launched the "Kumayyk" program, supported by the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, aimed at reducing the population of stray dogs. As part of this program, temporary shelters for animals were opened, where they were neutered or spayed and then returned to their familiar environment. In 2025, the mayor of Kant reported that the number of stray animals in his city had significantly decreased, as had the number of complaints about them.
