At the meeting of the Education Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which took place today, the head of the school education department, Melis Muluuzmanov, spoke about plans to implement an updated pre-conscription training course in educational institutions in the 2026/27 academic year.

Deputy Gulai Mashrapova raised an important question about the state of teaching this subject in schools.

She noted: "The upbringing of a patriotically-minded youth begins in schools. What is the current state of pre-conscription training? Who conducts the classes? What is the material and technical base? I receive numerous complaints from teachers."

Muluuzmanov responded that a working group had been formed as part of the preparation of the new program, which collaborated with the Ministry of Defense. As a result, the requirements for the qualifications of teachers were reviewed, and new standards for classroom arrangements were introduced. According to preliminary estimates, about 533,000 soms will be needed to equip classrooms in schools in Bishkek.

Deputy Minister of Education Nadira Jusupekova added that an open dialogue about the quality of teaching this subject in educational institutions took place at the presidential administration.

She emphasized: "Currently, monitoring is being conducted. Educational materials are available only in some schools; in most, they are absent. The presidential administration has instructed us to take the necessary actions, and we, together with the Ministry of Defense, have prepared calculations for the Ministry of Finance," she concluded.
