During a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, Deputy Jumabek Salymbekov raised the issue of the timeline for lifting the restrictions on electricity consumption set at 3–5 kWh.
He noted that representatives of small businesses operating from home have approached him and expressed concern that the current restrictions have negatively impacted their activities, particularly in Bishkek and other regions.
Deputy Minister of Energy Nasipbek Kerimov responded that a decision on the possible lifting of restrictions will be made after the autumn-winter season, taking into account the current regime and volumes of electricity consumption.
Kerimov added: “Night temperatures are still below zero. We will be able to consider the issue of lifting restrictions at the end of March or in April, but I cannot provide exact dates yet.”
