Currently, there are about 6,000 pilgrims from Kyrgyzstan in the holy city of Mecca. This was reported by Zholdoshbek Abdildaev, the deputy mufti of the country, in an interview with the Kabar agency.

He noted that information about Kyrgyz citizens is coming from 46 registered travel companies that operate in this direction.

“As of today, the situation in Mecca is calm. However, due to the escalating conflicts in the region, air traffic has been temporarily suspended. Some countries are organizing the evacuation of their citizens through diplomatic channels. All flights that were supposed to return via Dubai have been canceled. Neighboring states have entered into agreements with travel companies that include special insurance deposits for the emergency evacuation of their citizens. Since this is the first experience of organizing such work, we have included in the contracts obligations for the return of citizens specifically to the travel companies,” he explained.

In addition, Zholdoshbek Abdildaev recommended that those who planned to perform the minor pilgrimage postpone their trip to a later date due to the current situation.

“We urge our citizens in Mecca to remain calm, not to panic, and to strictly follow the instructions of their tour operators and group leaders (ajy bashchy),” added the deputy mufti.
