These unmanned aerial vehicles, which residents call "community patrol drones," are equipped with powerful loudspeakers and light signals. This allows operators to make remarks to citizens in real time and respond quickly to violations. Police use drones to record violations both on the roads and in parks and residential courtyards, instantly transmitting video data and coordinates to the nearest stations.
The name of the drones arose due to their "public oversight" function, reminiscent of the work of voluntary people's patrols. In recent years, there has been a rise in the activity of such associations in Kazakhstan, and the digitalization of public order monitoring is a logical continuation of this trend. The introduction of drones is aimed at improving safety levels and ensuring rapid response to incidents in places of mass gatherings of citizens.
