The website of the Jogorku Kenesh presents a draft law that proposes changes to the legislation of Kyrgyzstan regarding the protection of consumer rights and liability for violations related to the sale of organic products. This draft law aims to tighten the requirements for labeling, selling, and providing information about organic goods online.
According to the draft, certified organic products must be allocated special places on store shelves, as well as create separate sections on sellers' websites for online trading.
In the absence of such shelves or information, penalties are provided, ranging from 3,000 to 20,000 soms depending on the type of seller—individual or legal entity.

Furthermore, the amendments introduce liability for using symbols and pictograms similar to the organic logo on regular products if this could mislead consumers.

The explanatory note states that this draft law aims to support organic farming, increase market transparency, and protect consumers from misleading information. The developers assure that the implementation of this document will not require additional budgetary funds and will not lead to negative social or economic consequences.

The draft law is posted on the official website of the parliament and is available for public discussion. After its review, it will be put to a vote in the Jogorku Kenesh.
