At the republican meeting on February 27, attended by President Sadyr Japarov, Baisalov noted that the salaries for imams will be increased. For the first time in history, 2,035 imam-khatibs have started receiving a salary from the muftiate budget in the amount of 8,000 soms.

Now, starting in February, their income will increase to 15,000 soms, with more than 4,000 imams set to receive the new salary. In addition, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan has been allocated 49 vehicles, he added.

Baisalov also noted that discussions are currently underway regarding possible support for the Orthodox Church.
