The branch of OJSC "NESC" - Issyk-Kul Electric Networks Enterprise is actively conducting modernization aimed at ensuring reliable and quality electricity supply for the region.
Currently, the "Przhevalskaya" substation, with a voltage of 110/35/10 kV, operates with two transformers. In 2025, one of them, with a capacity of 25 MVA, will be replaced with a transformer with a capacity of 40 MVA.
This year, as part of the planned works, the second 25 MVA transformer will also be replaced with a new equivalent of 40 MVA. This will lead to an increase in the capacity of the "Przhevalskaya" substation by 15 MVA, bringing the total to 80 MVA.
The modernization will enhance the overall capacity of the substation, reduce the load on the power grids, and ensure stable electricity supply for the residents of Karakol and the nearby villages of the Ak-Suu district. Currently, 14,752 subscribers receive electricity through the substation.
In comparison, during the same period in 2023, the number of subscribers was 13,759, indicating an increase of 1,000 subscribers over the past three years, highlighting the importance of phased modernization of the power networks. It is expected that the completion of all modernization works will occur by the end of 2026.
