The press service of the Ombudsman Institute reported that on February 26, their employees visited the four children of the woman who committed self-immolation at Issyk-Kul.
It is worth reminding that the tragic incident occurred in the Ak-Suu district when the woman set herself on fire after learning about her 17-year-old daughter's pregnancy.
The children live in the Ak-Suu district, where the eldest, a pregnant girl, studies at a vocational college. She has two younger sisters, aged 15 and 6, and a 14-year-old brother.
The family was registered as low-income, and their mother M.A. had been receiving child benefits since 2018.
According to local authorities, last year, with the help of charitable organizations, a house was built for the family. Additionally, the village administration provided financial assistance since the woman was raising the children alone after the divorce.
Currently, the children are under the care of their older aunt. The issue of appointing official guardianship will be resolved soon.
The pregnant minor girl also remains with relatives. The police are conducting an investigation based on her testimony.
The Ombudsman Institute noted that the head of the agency, Jamiliya Jamambaeva, is monitoring the situation with M.Z., who has found herself in difficult life circumstances.
She also demands a thorough investigation into the circumstances of her mother's death.
The Ombudsman calls on government agencies to implement comprehensive measures to protect the rights of children left without a mother and to provide them with the necessary social assistance.
