Residents will be left with secondary streets
In the Bishkek city hall, there are plans to remove some bus routes from the main streets of the city during the summer optimization aimed at reducing traffic jams.
According to city authorities, there are currently more than 14 routes operating on Baytik Baatyra Street, while the norm should be no more than 10, which creates congestion on the roads.
Instead, the city hall wants to increase the number of routes on secondary streets.
Additionally, bus routes will become shorter, which will deprive residents and tourists of the opportunity to quickly reach remote points, such as the car market.
According to city hall representatives, this decision is intended to improve passenger comfort, as long routes allowed buses to make only 3-4 trips a day.
So far, the issue of increasing fare rates has not been resolved, and the idea of hourly payment is still in the development stage.
