A family from the Talas region carefully preserves a prayer mat — "jainamaz," which was used by their ancestor over a hundred years ago. This information was shared by ecologist and local historian Gamal Soronkulov.

According to Soronkulov, during the month of Orozo, there is a revival of the tradition of ooz achar — breaking the fast. "Recently, I visited Ilyas Jarmanbetov in the Bakai-Ata district, and after breaking the fast, we performed the evening prayer together. Among the new mats, one old felt mat caught my attention, which has been wonderfully preserved," he noted.

After the prayer, the host shared the history of this mat. It turned out that it had been passed down through several generations and served as a spiritual support for many. The first owner of this artifact was the hunter Jarmanbet, an outstanding figure from the Keldichangyl clan. The renowned hunter, Jumashaly uulu Jarmanbet, born in 1909, provided food for the people of his region.

However, when his fame reached its peak, he was accused of collaborating with the Basmach movement and was exiled, from which he never returned. Although this famous hunter could not come back, his descendants continue to use his mat for prayer, dedicating Quran readings and praying for his soul. They shared that Jarmanbet used this mat from an early age, and his descendants have preserved it as a precious heritage," added Soronkulov.
