At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 26, deputy Aigul Akhmedova raised a troubling issue regarding the ongoing production of counterfeit Kyrgyz passports and driver's licenses in Russia. According to her, she has received inquiries from the Russian Federation, where such documents are manufactured and then sold to citizens of other countries.

She noted that these foreigners could commit offenses, including traffic accidents, while the responsibility for this falls on the citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva, responding to these accusations, explained that such crimes occur on the territory of Russia, and Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies do not have the ability to intervene. "Our legislation limits the possibility of intervening in the legal systems of other countries. This phenomenon is a form of fraud, and similar cases have been recorded not only in Russia but also in other countries, such as France. Responsibility for such actions will be imposed on the offenders according to the laws of the country where the crime was committed," she added.

Akhmedova also emphasized that such situations negatively affect the reputation of Kyrgyzstan.

Konkubaeva also mentioned that the management of the company "Unaa" had previously assured that it is impossible to counterfeit Kyrgyz passports and driver's licenses due to adherence to all security standards. "If you have specific cases, please let us know, and we will investigate them," she stated.
