In Kyrgyzstan, orphans may be included in the "Social Mortgage"
Igor Belyaev, a graduate of an orphanage, addressed Bekeshev with a question about the need to provide housing for orphans who are leaving the institution. He raised this issue, which prompted the deputy to send inquiries to the relevant government bodies.
In response to his inquiries, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration reported the implementation of a new children's deposit "Kelechekke salym" starting June 1, 2024, which will be automatically opened for each child who has become an orphan, without the need for a personal application.
The deputy also received a response from the State Mortgage Company, stating that changes are currently being developed to include graduates of orphanages in the "Social Mortgage" program as part of the "Menin üyum" initiative. Bekeshev promised to provide additional information after the relevant decisions are made.
He emphasized that work on this issue is ongoing. "The housing problem for orphans requires a comprehensive approach, and I will monitor its resolution," he noted.
The director of the public fund "Child Protection Rights," Igor Belyaev, again drew attention to the issue of providing housing for graduates of orphanages. He noted that despite existing legislative guarantees, in practice, obtaining a free apartment is quite difficult, which is why he advocates for preferential mortgages.
