According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decree No. 131, adopted on February 23, this decision is aimed at implementing modern space technologies that will be used to obtain aerospace images. These images will assist in the effective use and accounting of land resources, conducting environmental monitoring, tracking climate changes, identifying critically important minerals, and preventing emergencies.
The founder and sole shareholder of OJSC "Kyrgyz Satellite" is the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers.The office of "Kyrgyz Satellite" will be located in Karakol, Issyk-Kul region, based on a gratuitous use agreement, with the organization covering utility and operational expenses. The city administration has been instructed to allocate a land plot for the construction and placement of the new facility.
The decree will come into effect fifteen days after its official publication.
